David Lee has been very consistent for the Golden State Warriors

27-year old power forward David Lee has been very solid for the Warriors so far this year. Lee has played in 27 games (all starts) for the Warriors this year and he is averaging 36.6 minutes, 15.2 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Lee is giving the Warriors the toughness they need in the paint. When Andris Biedrins is healthy and playing alongside Lee, not too many teams have an advantage in the paint over the Warriors and that has been a pleasant change for the team after years of bad defense and getting dominated in the paint.

Reggie Williams stepped up when the Golden State Warriors needed him

24-year old SG/SF Reggie Williams really stepped up while Stephen Curry was injured. In Williams’ last 8 games, he is averaging 34.5 minutes, 18.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He shot 50.5% from the floor and 48.9% from three point range in those 8 games as he was on fire. He has now played in 29 games (7 starts) overall this season and he is averaging 24.8 minutes, 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Williams is shooting 41.7% from the floor so far this year from 3-point range as he has been outstanding. If Williams keeps playing well don’t be surprised if he starts cutting into Dorell Wright’s playing time.

25-year old guard Monta Ellis has taken over the Warriors’ offense with Stephen Curry out of action due to injury. Ellis has played in 9 games in December so far and he is averaging 42.3 minutes, 27.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Ellis is shooting 42.5% from three point range so far this month as he is red hot. Ellis has now played in 27 games (all starts) so far this year and he is averaging 40.1 minutes, 25.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

25-year old small forward Dorell Wright has been solid lately despite having shooting woes. In Wright’s last five games, he has averaged 43.0 minutes, 12.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Wright is not without flaws though as he is only shooting 32.9% from the floor in his last five games. Wright has now played in 23 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 39.5 minutes, 14.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Wright has been a pleasant surprise for the Warriors this year and they hope he keeps up the good work.

Reggie Williams is starting to get into a groove for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 9 December 2010 at 9:57 pm

With Stephen Curry a little gimpy, look for 24-year old Reggie Williams to get more P.T. In the game where Curry got injured, Williams scored 31 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and he dished out 2 assists. He was 11 of 16 shooting from the floor and 8 of 10 from three point range. Williams has now played in 22 games (1 start) so far this year and he is averaging 21.7 minutes, 9.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. They need to start finding Williams more P.T. because he’s instant offense. He is hitting 43.5% from three point range this year and he can put the ball in the basket.
