Monta Ellis continues to play strong basketball for the Golden State Warriors

25-year old shooting guard Monta Ellis has played well in February for the Warriors which should come as no surprise. Ellis has played in 10 games for the Warriors so far this month and he is averaging 40.0 minutes, 24.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He has now played in 57 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 40.9 minutes, 25.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Ellis is by far the best all-around player the Warriors have and they would be smart to watch his minutes a little more if possible, because they have no chance of making the playoffs without him.

Dorell Wright is really playing well for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 8 February 2011 at 1:55 pm

25-year old small forward Dorell Wright won a starting job in training camp for the Warriors and he has not looked back. Wright has played in 49 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 39.6 minutes, 16.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He is also shooting 41.5% from three point range so far this year which is outstanding. Wright already has career highs in three pointers made, steals, rebounds, assists and points so far this year and there is still a long way to go. Wright was always a great athlete but the Heat never gave him a shot to show what he can do, and the Warriors are very glad about that.

The Golden State Warriors are wasting Reggie Williams on the bench

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 2 February 2011 at 8:42 pm

24-year old small forward Reggie Williams is the forgotten man on the Golden State Warriors. Williams played in 14 games in January for the Warriors and he averaged 16.0 minutes, 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He has now played in 46 games (7 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 21.6 minutes, 9.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Williams is shooting 40.8% from three point range so far this year as he brings instant offense off the bench for the Warriors. The Warriors should find a little more P.T. for Williams going forward.
