Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Warriors News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Wednesday 2 December 2009 at 9:12 am

The Warriors will be without PF/SF Anthony Randolph for a week or two due to a sprained left ankle. He has played in 16 games (1 start) this season for the Warriors and he is averaging 21.4 minutes, 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.1 blocked shots. This will hurt the Warriors as Randolph is one of the better players on the team which is already thin due to injuries.

The Warriors will be without back up point guard C.J. Watson for a while as he has tested positive for the swine flu. Watson has played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Warriors this season and he is averaging 15.3 minutes, 5.9 points, 0.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Warriors will really miss Watson as they need all hands on the deck right now.

The Golden State Warriors lose SG/SF Kelenna Azubuike for the year

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Warriors News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 17 November 2009 at 8:12 pm

The Warriors have lost SG/SF Kelenna Azubuike for the season due to a torn left patellar tendon. Azubuike played in 9 games (7 starts) for the Warriors this season and he averaged 25.7 minutes, 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. He also was shooting the ball great this season hitting 54.5% from the floor. This injury combined with the trade of Stephen Jackson to the Bobcats will hurt the offense of the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors lose Andris Biedrins for a while

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 6:37 pm

The Warriors will be without starting center Andris Biedrins for at least two weeks due to a right groin injury and a case of abdominal inflammation. He has played in 4 games (all starts) so far this season for the Warriors and he is averaging 23.0 minutes, 6.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Anthony Randolph will likely get the first shot to replace him in the starting lineup. He has played in 6 games (1 start) for the Warriors this season and he is averaging 20.7 minutes, 12.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. Ronny Turiaf and Mikki Moore will also likely see a bump in playing time. Randolph is a better offensive player than Biedrins but he’s not as good of a defender.

The Golden State Warriors lose Brandan Wright

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Warriors News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Sunday 4 October 2009 at 9:54 pm

The Warriors will be without 21-year old power forward Brandan Wright for the next 4-6 months due to a severe shoulder injury that could require surgery. This is a huge blow to the Warriors as Wright was going to get a lot of minutes this season. He played in 39 games (23 starts) for the Warriors last season and he averaged 17.6 minutes, 8.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Wright has now played in 77 games (29 starts) in his two year NBA career and he has averaged 13.8 minutes, 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. This will hurt the Warriors who were depending on Wright to have a important role on the team in 2009-2010.
