The Golden State Warriors lose Kwame Brown for the next three months

The Warriors will be without 29-year old center Kwame Brown at least the next three months due to torn pectoral muscles. He has played in 9 games (3 starts) for the Warriors this year and he is averaging 20.8 minutes, 6.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. 25-year old Andris Biedrins will get his starting job back. He has played in 6 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 13.8 minutes, 3.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. The Warriors need Biedrins to get more physical around the basket as he has only attempted two free throws this year, missing both of them. 24-year old Ekpe Udoh will likely also see a bump in minutes for the Warriors going forward. Udoh has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 16.1 minutes, 4.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. The Warriors have high hopes for Udoh.

Acie Law is done for the year for the Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have lost 26-year old point guard Acie Law for the rest of the year due to right wrist surgery which he underwent yesterday. Law played in 40 games (0 starts) for the Warriors this year and he averaged 15.8 minutes, 5.1 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Despite Law playing the best basketball of his career this year it’s still questionable that he will return to the Warriors next year.

The Golden State Warriors likely lost Andris Biedrins for the rest of the year

The Golden State Warriors have likely lost 24-year old starting center Andris Biedrins for the rest of the season due to a high ankle sprain. Biedrins has played in 59 games (55 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he averaged 23.7 minutes, 5.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. 23-year old rookie Ekpe Udoh will likely take over as the Warriors’ starting center the rest of the year. He has played in 45 games (5 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 14.8 minutes, 3.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game. 28-year old Louis Amundson will likely take over as the backup center the rest of the way for the Warriors. Amundson has played in 34 games (7 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 13.9 minutes, 3.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Udoh & Amundson will likely play well enough that the Warriors won’t miss Biedrins too much as he has been a huge disappointment this season.

The Golden State Warriors lose David Lee for a couple weeks

The Warriors with be without starting power forward David Lee for a couple of weeks due to a infected left elbow. This is a huge blow to the Warriors. Lee has played in 8 games (all starts) so far this year and he is averaging 34.6 minutes, 14.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Warriors will miss his rebounding while he is out of action. Brandan Wright will likely replace Lee in the starting lineup. He has played in 7 games (1 start) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 13.1 minutes, 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. Vladimir Radmanovic will also likely see a bump in P.T. with Lee out of action. He has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 12.4 minutes, 3.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

The Golden State Warriors pick Ekpe Udoh in the first round

The Warriors have picked 23-year old power forward Ekpe Udoh with the sixth overall pick of the NBA Draft. Udoh is a big guy at 6′10″, 240 pounds and he will be throwing his weight around for the Warriors. Udoh played in 36 games (all starts) for Baylor last season and he averaged 13.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 3.7 blocked shots per game. He finished up his time in college (3 years) playing in 103 games (67 starts) in which he averaged 8.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.8 blocked shots per game. Udoh should start from day #1 for the Warriors giving them solid defense and rebounding.

UPDATE: The Warriors will be without rookie power forward Ekpe Udoh for the next six months due to wrist surgery.
