The Golden State Warriors trade Marco Belinelli to the Raptors
The Warriors have traded 23-year old shooting guard Marco Belinelli to the Raptors for 31-year old forward Devean George. Belinelli played in 42 games (23 starts) for the Warriors last season and he averaged 8.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. In two years with the Warriors, Belinelli played in 75 games (23 starts) in which he averaged 15.0 minutes, 6.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. The Warriors hope that George will give them some solid minutes off the bench this season. He played in 43 games (17 starts) for the Mavericks last season and he averaged 16.5 minutes, 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. George has now played in 585 games (104 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 18.7 minutes, 5.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. It will be interesting to see how well Belinelli plays for the Raptors which will determine if this was a good trade or not for the Warriors.
