The Golden State Warriors buy out Adonal Foyle’s contract
This was actually a nice gesture by the Warriors as Foyle really didn’t fit into their new style of basketball. Foyle now becomes a free agent and he will likely find a decent job somewhere because he does still have some skills as a defender and rebounder. He played in 48 games (6 starts) last season for the Warriors and he averaged 9.9 minutes, 2.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 1.0 block per game. He nailed 56.5% of his shots from the floor but most of them were on putbacks and dunks. He was a woeful 44% shooter from the free throw line.
Foyle played 10 seasons for the Warriors covering 641 games (269 starts) and he averaged 19.1 minutes, 4.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.7 blocks per game. He made 47.7% of his shots from the floor and 50.1% of his free throws in his NBA career so far.
