What a fantastic basketball game. The Warriors played great down the stretch in this ballgame and they had to because the Mavericks left all they had on the basketball court. The Warriors were outrebounded 49-34 in this game but they won because of the heart they played with. Baron Davis was awesome again with 33 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals as he abused Devin Harris and Jason Terry all night long. Jason Richardson also had a good game with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Stephen Jackson (19 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists) and Mickael Pietrus (16 points, 5 rebounds) both played big parts in the win also. Pietrus intercepted a pass late in the game that secured the win last night. The Warriors are now up 3-1 in this series.

Maybe it is time to go buy a Baron Davis jersey

I’ve never liked Baron Davis, especially when he was playing dirty against my beloved Miami Heat, but that’s starting to change. As much as I always disliked Davis, I still detest the Mavericks. Don Nelson’s squad just owns the Mavs. Wouldn’t that be something if both of last year’s teams from the finals got bounced in the first round?

All I have to say is, “Let’s go Warriors!”

Don Nelson outcoached Avery Johnson again when he decided to start Andris Biedrins at center so the Mavericks didn’t have the size advantage anymore. Still, the Warriors still played the game at their pace as they raced out to a 89-71 lead after 3 quarters. Then they cruised to an easy win. Jason Richardson led the way for the Warriors with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists on 12 of 19 shooting from the floor. Baron Davis had another solid game with 24 points and 5 assists. Stephen Jackson had a rough shooting game as he only hit 4 of 12 shots from the floor. He still finished up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Monta Ellis also had a decent game with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Andris Biedrins only played 23 minutes on the court and he wound up with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors now lead this series 2-1 over the mighty Mavericks.

The Warriors played well enough to win in 3 of the 4 quarters tonight, but they were outscored 33-22 in the 3rd quarter and that did them in tonight. Also, the Mavericks went with their big lineup and they outrebounded the Warriors 41-34. The Warriors also lost their composure late in the game as Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson were each ejected. Stephen Jackson led the way for the Warriors with 30 points and 3 rebounds, but he turned the ball over 8 times and that hurt. Monta Ellis had another good game with 20 points and 3 rebounds. Jason Richardson was very active with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. Baron Davis found the going a little tougher than it was in game #1. He wound up with 13 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the floor and he turned the ball over 6 times. The Mavericks got their big three going as Jason Terry, Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard scored 73 points between them last night. The series is tied 1-1 as it shifts to the Oracle in Oakland.

The Golden State Warriors took advantage of the Mavericks changing up their starting lineup to deal with the Warriors’ small ball. The games was tied at 38 at halftime, but the Warriors came out of the lockerroom running as they outscored the Mavericks 59-47 in the second half to seal their great road victory tonight. Baron Davis was unstoppable as he scored 33 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out 8 assists and stole the ball 3 times. Stephen Jackson also had an outstanding game with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Jason Richardson added 13 points and 6 rebounds. The Mavericks played outstanding team defense as they held Dirk Nowitzki to 14 points on 4 of 16 shooting. The Warriors own a 1-0 lead in this series.
