Monta Ellis still playing well

Blogged under Steppin Up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 4:19 pm

Monta Ellis is continuing to play well this season. A back-up until this season, Ellis is proving that all he really needed was a chance to play. In his last 6 games (5 starts) he has averaged 19.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals. Pretty good numbers for a guy who averaged 6.8 points per game last year as a rookie. Ellis fits perfectly into Don Nelson’s style of play.

Warriors lose a tough one 108-103 to the Lakers in Los Angeles

The Warriors were outrebounded 51-36 and outscored 28-18 in the 4th quarter by the Lakers and that’s why they lost this game. Al Harrington led the way for the Pacers with 30 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Monta Ellis also had a solid game with 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Baron Davis did a good job of directing the offense with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals.

The Warriors fell to 19-23 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270122013

Matt Barnes likely to be coming off the bench now

Blogged under Big Warriors News, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Monday 22 January 2007 at 12:30 pm

Because of the big trade with the Pacers, Matt Barnes days as a starter are likely over for now. He’s been a big surprise this season for the Warriors as he’s averaged 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this season. He will probably keep his numbers close to that level because he’s such an active player when he’s on the court.

Warriors lose game they should have won 106-104 to the Cavs at Golden State

The Warriors were outscored 33-19 in the 4th quarter and overtime and that’s what did them in last night. Other contributing factors to the loss were that the Cavs outrebounded the Warriors 57-45 and the Warriors only shot 39.8% from the floor as a team. Stephen Jackson led the way for the Warriors with 29 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Monta Ellis also had a solid game with 16 points and 8 assists.

Undermanned Warriors fall to the Clippers 115-109 in Los Angeles

Blogged under Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 1:06 pm

The Warriors were down to 8 players against the Clippers as they wait for the new players to get to Oakland and that hurt them last night as the Clippers decided to outrun them. Monta Ellis had a great game with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Rookie Kelenna Azubuike also had a monster game with 28 points and 7 rebounds. Baron Davis did his usual good job of running the offense. He wound up with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Warriors fell to 19-21 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270117012
