Troy Murphy is moving over from power forward to start at center for the Warriors. Murphy had his best season last year with 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Murphy is a strong shooter for a big man and he could help open up the paint by luring the opposing center outside to cover him. Murphy has averaged 11.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game over his career.Â
Andris Biedrins will be the back-up. Biedrins is an excellent defensive player that should be in line for more minutes this season because of that. Biedrins has only averaged 14.1 minutes per game over his career, but has averaged 3.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game. He needs to improve his free-throw shooting (36.6% career) or he will have a hard time getting the extra playing time.
Adonal Foyle is still around, but he’s definately falling on the depth chart. Foyle is a good rebounder and defensive player, but he doesn’t really add much to the offense. Foyle has averaged 4.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game over his career.
Patrick O’Bryant was the first round pick of the Warriors, but he will take some time to adjust to the NBA and will be brought along slowly.
